Tenths, hundredths, ordering and rounding decimals!
When we divide 1 whole into 10 equal parts, each part is one tenth.
The digit after the decimal point is the tenths digit. So 0.3 means 3 tenths = 3/10.
When we divide 1 whole into 100 equal parts, each part is one hundredth.
The second digit after the decimal point is the hundredths digit. So 0.47 = 4 tenths + 7 hundredths.
Compare digit by digit from left to right: ones first, then tenths, then hundredths.
Example: Order 0.5, 0.47, 0.9 โ 0.47 < 0.5 < 0.9
